Concert Choir

Concert Choir involves select singers performing choral literature while representing the University at major events. The ensemble emphasizes vocal technique required to perform a variety of master works from all time periods. The Concert Choir has been a staple vocal ensemble for well over 30 years. Concert Choir

Chamber Choir

Chamber Choir is a team of men and women who present sacred a cappella music as a worship ministry. Along with music of various styles, the group also shares testimonies, scripture, and life experiences associated with their music. The Chamber Choir performs as a mixed choir, mens ensemble, and/or women's ensemble, thus being versatile for all types of occasions. Members must be available an average of 2 weekends per month.

Concert Choir

Symphonic Band with Strings

The HLGU Symphonic Band with strings is open to all students by audition and involves the study, preparation and performance of representative concert band literature. The band emphasizes the techniques of good ensemble playing, including tone quality, intonation, balance and phrasing. The band performs in the Department of Music Christmas Concert each December and in the Spring Instrumental Concert. Occasionally, small brass or woodwind ensembles are chosen from the Symphonic Band with strings to perform at select events.
