Honors Program

For students with a high level of academic ability, HLG offers an Honors Program that focuses on a rigorous course of study in literature, history, science, and Christianity.  You'll examine classic texts that will help you confront the on-going challenges mankind has faced within the universe, the environment, and the soul. Honors classes encourage personal creativity and insight as students and professors interact in an atmosphere that promotes original thinking.  In the end, you'll have a clearer understanding of the human condition and a good foundation for living a successful and meaningful life. Housed in a magnificent nineteenth-century manor house, Harlaxton offers you the chance of a lifetime to meet other students from across the United States and to immerse yourself  in British culture.  Harlaxton's curriculum features a unique interdisciplinary approach to the study of British art, history, literature, and archeology, as well as a full range of courses in the humanities and social sciences.

The schedule at Harlaxton College is designed to give you the option for additional travel during the semester.  Students have the opportunity to travel to locations including Paris, Rome, Dublin, and Edinburgh.  Shorter trips are available to  such places as London, Bath, Stonehenge, Stratford, York, Oxford, and Cambridge.

Overseas Study

In addition to the Harlaxton program, Hannibal-LaGrange has a semester study program at Hong Kong Baptist University.  Short-term study tours to other locations are conducted on alternate years during spring break or summer terms.  Recent trips have visited Great Britain, the European continent, and the Greek Isles.
