Brief Bio

Chris Brennemann has taught at Hannibal-LaGrange University for over eight years and is rewarded and challenged by the energy, teachable and dynamic spirit of college students. Brennemann is adamant about her calling and commitment to hands-on, practical instruction. She explains, "The communication industry is ever-changing, evolving into greater outreach, more powerful influence and impressive creative and technical aspects. The list of career opportunities is expanding more in this field than in most other academic areas." Brennemann teaches in all the Media Communication emphases of Speech, Public Relations, Journalism and Broadcast Production.

Brennemann serves on the Student Learning Improvement and Academic Department Review committees at HLGU. She works closely with scripting, taping and producing HLGU special events. She serves as host of some events.

Brennemann is the creator and faculty sponsor for the campus' only women's honor society, Alpha Tau Beta, a service and missions/ministry organization focused on highlighting, rewarding and equipping students as women of leadership. Alpha Tau Beta spearheads the mission work with a major mission outreach in Haiti. The group has taken a team to Haiti four times.

Brennemann's free time is absorbed mostly with activities and sporting events with her family. Her husband works at HLGU as administrator, Dean of Student Development. They have two children in elementary and middle school. Chris finds great joy in attending, volunteering and seasonal coaching for her kids' basketball, softball/baseball teams and other sports activities. She prefers outdoor activities as hobbies. The Brennemanns are active members of First Baptist Church in Palmyra.
