Students may receive one scholarship from the academic/achievement section.
Academic scholarships are awarded to full-time, degree seeking students attending HLGU’s main campus. Academic scholarships are designed to recognize and reward students for previous academic achievement. Generous scholarship awards are presented based on high school grade point average (GPA) and ACT/SAT scores. Scholarship dollar amounts range from $5,000 to $10,000 annually (up to $20,000 to $40,000 over 4 years). Academic scholarships are renewable for four years (eight semesters) with appropriate HLGU cumulative grade point average (CGPA).
Regional High School Scholarship
The HLGU Regional High School Scholarship is available to current high school and homeschool seniors. To be eligible, the student must be a senior attending a high school or homeschool within a 50 mile radius of the University, have a GPA of 2.75 or higher, a minimum ACT score of 18, and be in the top half of their graduating class. A personal interview with the Director of Admissions is also required. Residential students are eligible for a $10,000 scholarship annually, and commuter students are eligible for a $6,500 annual scholarship.
Scholarships awarded are limited to 50 per year and are renewable for four years based on an earned 2.5 CGPA. The HLGU Regional High School Scholarship may not be combined with any other institutional scholarship. Click here to apply.
Students who transfer to HLGU are eligible for scholarships ranging from $2,500 to $6,500. Transfer scholarships are renewable and are based on full-time enrollment and maintaining a minimum college GPA of 2.5.
Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship
Students transferring into HLGU with membership in Phi Theta Kappa are eligible to receive a scholarship. Students must enroll full-time and maintain a CGPA of 3.0.
Eligibility for Academic and Achievement Scholarships
First-time freshman, transfer students with less than 24 hours
Academic and achievement scholarships are treated as academic year scholarships. Scholarships will not be removed between the fall and spring semesters. Enhancement scholarships including athletic, denominational, and performing arts are treated as a year award. Scholarships will not be removed between the fall and spring semester.
Returning students, transfer students with more than 24 hours
Academic and achievement scholarships are treated as semester awards. Scholarships will be removed between the fall and spring semesters if the appropriate CGPA is not maintained. Enhancement scholarships including athletic, denominational, and performing arts are treated as a semester award. Any student with below a 2.0 will have their enhancement award removed.
