Except for a few athletic teams, all new students will move in on August 25th starting at 10:00 a.m. You can get there earlier (starting at 8:00 a.m.) to do any paper work you need to finish and buy books, but you will need to wait in your designated dorm lane in the Roland Fine Arts Center (RFAC) parking lot until 10:00 a.m. when move in begins. You will enter the campus through the main entrance and line-up in your designated dorm lane in the Roland Fine Arts Center (RFAC) parking lot. Beginning at 10:00 a.m. you and your vehicle(s) will be escorted to the entrance of your residential hall where you will be met by the Swarm Squad. Stay in your car! This group of highly motivated upperclassmen will unload the contents of your vehicle(s) and take them to your room. You will be given instructions for where to park your car and then return to your room.
A Team Leader is a returning student who went through a rigorous application process because they are interested in welcoming new students to HLG. Your Team Leader’s job is to introduce you to life at HLG by guiding you and five to nine other students through New Student Orientation. They will be in contact with you throughout the summer to answer any questions and address any concerns. Meet our Team Leaders here.

Yes, orientation is for all incoming first-year students and transfer students.
Our activities for parents specifically go through Thursday evenings Parent’s Panel. We encourage parents to then attend Family Weekend/ Homecomming October 7th-9th 2011. This weekend is full of fun events for families to take part in and embrace their Trojan pride! Please look for more information on our website after Aug 26th and at Move In Day Aug 26th during the Parent/Student Meeting and Parent’s Panel.
