The mission of Hannibal-LaGrange New Student Orientation is to provide programs to new students and their families to assist in the transition process. This process facilitates the student’s transition academically, socially, and culturally to the campus climate.
As you leave home and embark on this brand new adventure called college, we at Hannibal-LaGrange University want you to feel comfortable and at home in your new environment.
Orientation is designed to encourage and help you learn what it means to be a Trojan, develop a strong sense of school spirit, and understand the academic and social expectations of college. HLG has a rich heritage and we are excited that you are among the newest members of our family. So, get in there and get involved and see just what HLG has to offer you!
You’ll become a vital part of the HLG family by beginning to build relationships with peers, faculty and staff. You’ll also become acquainted with HLG facilities, resources and services. The orientation schedule will keep new HLG students busy and engaged in fun from Thursday, August 25 through Monday, August 29.
Finally, we want your parents and relatives to better understand the process of this transition and the College’s commitment to them and to you! While orientation is geared towards new students, we also welcome parents to the HLG family. Parents are invited to some special events taking place on Thursday, August 25.
Every new student enrolled for the fall semester is automatically enrolled in orientation. The non-refundable fee for orientation is $65 for students and will automatically be added to your HLG account balance. This fee includes a t-shirt, school gift and meals for four days.
Together we will survive New Student Orientation!
