Lynda Randle to Speak at 72nd Annual Booster Banquet
November 22nd

Hannibal-LaGrange University is happy to announce singer Lynda Randle as the keynote speaker for the 72nd annual Booster Banquet to be held on Friday, November 22nd.

Lynda was born and raised in Washington, D.C. Growing up a part of the D.C. inner-city culture, Lynda experienced the pain and anguish that can rarely be imagined by the majority of Christian-America. Since giving her life to the Lord Jesus Christ, He has used the scars of her youth to bring a distinct depth and richness to her ministry.

Lynda's distinct alto voice has created opportunities for her to minister across the United States and around the world. She has been a favorite on the Gaither Homecoming series and videos. Her two most requested songs are "God on the Mountain" and "I'm Free." In 2005, she won a Dove Award for her album, "A Tribute to Mahalia Jackson."

The doors will open at 6:00 pm and the event will begin at 7:00 pm. Tickets will be available for purchase starting Tuesday, September 3rd. Ticket prices are $50 for general admission and $150 for executive admission. This special ticket includes reserved parking, admission to a private reception with Lynda Randle starting at 6:00 pm, and a special reserved seat at the banquet. Attendees to the private reception will be able to meet Lynda and have a photo taken with her. For $1000 you can sponsor a table which includes eight executive tickets at a special price.

The "TTT" 5K Run/Walk and Kid's Fun Run are annual events sponsored by the missions department at HLGU and is a combination road/cross country race that weaves through campus.

The 7th annual HLGU Trojan Turkey Trek will be held on Saturday, November 2. The "TTT" 5K Run/Walk and Kid's Fun Run are annual events sponsored by the missions department at HLGU. The 5K Race/Walk will begin at 8:30 a.m. on the grounds of the Mabee Sports Complex followed by the 1/2-mile fun run for kids.

The "TTT" is a combination road/cross country race that weaves through Hannibal-LaGrange University campus. The race starts and finishes near the HLGU soccer field and will take you through campus, along a couple of city streets, and through some beautiful trails. The 5K run is competitive; the 5K walk is not. If you are familiar with one of Missouri's toughest 5K/10K races, the Hannibal Cannibal, this race is NOT the Cannibal, but it will introduce you to a few of Hannibal's hills!

The Trojan Turkey Trek is a fundraising event for the HLGU Missions Department. Students have opportunities each semester break (fall, Christmas, spring, and summer) to participate in missions or service projects locally, nationally, and internationally. Monies raised by the Trojan Turkey Trek help to offset student fundraising endeavors.

Online registration for the Trojan Turkey Trek is preferred. To register go to and click on the Trojan Turkey Trek slide. The cost is $20 for adult racers, $15 for HLGU students, faculty, staff, and alumni, $8 for Kid's Fun Run, or $50 for families of up to five people. After October 25, registration is $25 for adult racers and $10 for the Kid's Fun Run. T-shirts are guaranteed for all participants registered before October 25. Medals, individual prizes, door prizes, and the symbolic frozen turkeys will be awarded after the race.
