OUR PURPOSE

  • To further our knowledge of computers.
  • To help provide needed services for the campus.
  • To build a solid and respectable foundation for HLG's Computer program.
  • To increase the number of CIS majors on campus.
  • To help others in becoming computer inclined.
CODE OF ETHICS
  • I will do whatever it takes within the guidelines to make this organization a successful one.
  • I will be honest and trustworthy.
  • I will contribute to society as an individual.
  • I will be fair and take action not to discriminate.
  • I will show respect to others on campus.
  • I will show respect to the campus facilities.
  • I will achieve goals with solid morals and hard work.
  • I will honor contracts, agreements, and assigned responsibilities.
  • I will help enforce the consequences upon anyone who chooses not to comply.
CONSTITUTION
  • The name of this club will be HLG Computer Club.
  • All HLG students declaring a CIS major are granted membership.
  • Any HLG student who is not a declared CIS major may join the HLG Computer club for a fee of $50 per year or partial year.
  • Official meetings are held on a varying basis. They will be publicized and announced.
  • Only members can vote.
  • A quorum consists of 1/3 of the members and a CIS faculty.
  • A slate of positions to be filled will be nominated by the CIS faculty to be voted on by the club members.
  • Officers will plan events that meet with approval of CIS faculty.
  • All club members receive the benefits of paying club members fees for activities w/fess and are eligible for access to any departmental programs, and other departmental benefits or programs.
POSITIONS
  • President
    • Presides over meetings.
    • Represents the club in formal settings.
    • Acts as public relations officer.
    • Assist CIS faculty in the daily administration of club activities
  • Secretary/Treasurer
    • Presides over meetings in absence of the President
    • Assists in planning special occasions (i.e. pizza party) and is the contact for these special occasions.
    • In charge of the publication of P.R., flyers, etc.
    • Keep track of minutes of meetings and keep a running document for referral upon later request.
    • Sees that the money of the Club is in order.
  • SGA Representative
    • Represents the HLG Computer Club at SGA activities.
  • LAN Party Designer
    • Organizes and publicizes LAN parties for the group
  • ELMS Database Administrator
