Organization: PBL

What is ΦΒλ?
Phi Beta Lambda is a national organization for HLG students who are enrolled in business or business teacher programs. Promoting a sense of civic and personal responsibility, this organization provides opportunities for HLG students to develop competency in business occupations and in business teacher education.

What does the HLG PBL Chapter do?
Phi Beta Lambda meets once a month, usually on the third Monday at 10 a.m. Fall semester events may include a welcome cookout, a chili supper and bowling night, and a progressive dinner. Spring semester events may include a game night, the PBL Missouri State Conference, and the Dead Cow Roast! Other events may be scheduled.

What fundraiser does PBL do?
Phi Beta Lambda activities, scholarships, and competitive events are financed through chapter fundraisers. Each semester PBL provides the families/sponsors of HLG students with the opportunity to purchase Final Exam Survival Kits. PBL members are responsible for the marketing and assembly of these kits.

How do I become a member?
Phi Beta Lambda membership is open to Accounting, Business, Business Education, and Computer Information Systems majors and to students taking any classes in those departments. Please come to the first PBL meeting or contact any Business Department faculty member for more information on becoming a member.

How much are dues?
Phi Beta Lambda national, state and local dues are about $25 per school year.
