Brown Ends HLGU Tenure

Dr. Jeffrey Brown, a most beloved Christian studies professor, has ended his time at HLGU in order to join Passages Israel as director of development.

HLGU has been partnering with Passages Israel for three years to send students to the Holy Land at a heavily discounted price. While there, the students visit important biblical sites during the day and attend lectures on modern-day Israel in the evening.

“With Dr. Brown joining Passages, we are confident that our stellar relationship with them will flourish even more,” said Dr. Mullin, vice president for academic administration and dean of faculty. “Passages is a great organization, so I am excited for this opportunity for Dr. Brown, but his going is both a personal and professional loss. It has been a privilege to serve with Dr. Brown in a variety of capacities over the last several years. He will be sorely missed.”

Dr. Jeff Brown’s academic journey in Christian higher education began with his undergraduate work which was completed at HLGU. These formative years created a passion in him for higher education that is still strong today.

After graduating in 1994 with a Bachelor of Arts in Bible, he attended Southern Baptist Theological Seminary from 1995-2000, acquiring his Master of Divinity in Missions, Evangelism, and Church Growth as well as his Ph.D. in Preaching, Ethics, and Evangelism. He began to teach as an adjunct for HLGU in 2002 and joined the University full-time in 2008.
