Hannibal, MO - On Friday, September 9, 2011, Hannibal-LaGrange University will honor two former presidents, Dr. Larry L. Lewis and Dr. Paul E. Brown, by naming Memorial Hall in their honor at 10:00 a.m. at the Memorial Hall entrance.
Memorial Hall is the newest of the women’s dormitories and was built in 1998. Every room in the 94-bed dormitory is a private room and every two rooms are divided by a bathroom.
“This is an opportunity to honor two men who have been instrumental in the success and growth of Hannibal-LaGrange,” said Dr. Woodrow Burt, HLGU President. “They both provided outstanding leadership in crucial times in the life of HLGU.”
Alumni that were students during either Dr. Lewis’s or Dr. Brown’s tenure as president are asked to submit letters to be compiled into memory books and will be presented to Dr. Lewis and Dr. Brown on the day of the celebration. These letters need to be received by Wednesday, August 10, 2011. Emails are also accepted at firstname.lastname@example.org, as well as pictures. Donations are also being accepted for new signage and general upkeep of the building.
Please contact Lauren Youse, director of alumni services and development, at 573.629.3126 for more information about the celebration.
