HANNIBAL, Mo. – The Hannibal-LaGrange University cheerleading squad will hold cheer tryouts on Saturday September 10. The tryouts will begin at 9:00 a.m. and will break at 11:00 a.m. for a two hour intermission before starting back up at 1:00 p.m. and ending at 3:00 p.m. Students that tryout out for the team will learn a cheer, chant, short routine, and work on jumps and stunts.
“The tryouts will consist of performing an individual chant, a group cheer, group routine, two jumps, two group stunts, any tumbling they may have, as well as one interview question,” stated Cheer Coach Devan Carty.
The tryouts are closed to the public so that there will be no distractions for those participating. The squad usually ranges from 10 to 13 female cheerleaders as well as two to three male cheerleaders.
