Lady Trojan Soccer Signs Ramirez

DAYTONA, Fla. – The Hannibal-LaGrange University Women’s Soccer program is pleased to have signed Melissa Ramirez from Madrid, Spain. Melissa graduated from Jesus Maria High School.

Melissa was recruited by HLGU when participating at the 2011 International Doorway to Education & Athletics (IDEA) showcase held in Daytona, Florida.

Among her athletic accomplishments, Melissa has coached Futsal for kids ages 5-10 for four years and she was the first coach to take them to regional finals.

Melissa is the daughter of Christian Ramirez and Rosa Maria Ramirez, sister to Krystal Ramirez and Christian Ramirez and plans on majoring in Criminal Justice.

“I’m excited about the addition of Melissa to our soccer program and institution,” stated Head Coach Jason Nichols.  “She has the potential to impact our program on and off the field.  Melissa is another example of a fine student-athlete and person of character that our International Student department has recruited.”

HLGU is a Division I NAIA (National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics) school and a member of the American Midwest Conference.
