Trojans Finish Eighth at Missouri Intercollegiate Tourney

SUNRISE BEACH, Mo. – The Hannibal-LaGrange Men’s Golf team participated in the Missouri Intercollegiate Tournament last week at The Club at Porto Cima. The team finished the two day tournament in eighth place, out of 18 teams, and ahead of several NCAA Division II programs.
Marco Torrente was the top finisher for the Trojans. He finished the three round tournament shooting 11 over par (77, 79, 75) to finish tied for 11th. Philippe Guidi and Mathew Brennan also shot well for the Trojans. Guidi finished in a tie for 29th place after shooting 23 over par (81, 72, 86) while Brennan finished tied for 32nd after shooting 24 over par (81, 77, 82). Lucas Morande finished with a score of 34 over par (82, 85, 83) to end the tournament tied for 53rd place while Nathan Saxby ended the tournament in 92nd place after shooting 79 over par (107, 92, 96).
The Trojans will be back on the golf course on September 19 and 20 as it will participate in the William Woods Invitational. The invite will be held at the Tanglewood Golf Course in Fulton, Mo.
HLGU is a Division I NAIA (National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics) school and a member of the American Midwest Conference.
