Lady Trojans Prepare for Columbia College

HANNIBAL, Mo. – The Lady Trojans (3-2) will open up conference play tonight as it hosts No. 3 Columbia College (7-2) at 7:00 p.m. in Porter Gymnasium.  The upset minded Trojans have won three of its last four matches and will look to carry over its recent success into tonight’s match.

The ladies come back home after playing in the Viterbo University Tournament in LaCrosse, Wisc. last weekend.  While at the tournament, HLGU defeated Waldorf College 3-1 (28-26, 25-21, 17-25, 26-24), Dakota Wesleyan University 3-0 (25-22, 25-22, 25-23) and Valley City State University in a thrilling 3-2 victory (21-25, 25-22, 25-19, 24-26, 15-12).  The Lady Trojans’ lone loss came to Jamestown College as HLGU fell 0-3 (20-25, 18-25, 16-25).

HLGU was also honored to have junior Brook Van Es named to the All-Tournament team.  Van Es posted 52 kills and 45 digs during the four game tournament to work her way to the honor.

HLGU is a Division I NAIA (National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics) school and a member of the American Midwest Conference.
