HANNIBAL, Mo. – The Hannibal-LaGrange Lady Trojans dropped its third straight soccer match Wednesday afternoon in a painful 1-0 defeat.
Culver-Stockton took the lead early in the first half as Alyssa Houska found the back of the net from 25 yards out in the 10th minute. The shot floated over the head of Lady Trojan goalkeeper Whitney Voepel to put the Lady Wildcats up 1-0.
HLGU was limited to only three shots in the first half with one on goal, but outshot Culver-Stockton in the second half 11-4. However, the Lady Trojans couldn’t get anything by Lady Wildcat goalkeeper Jacpui Porter as she came up with six saves in the second half.
The loss drops the Lady Trojans to 3-7 as it now prepares for Saturday’s conference game against Harris-Stowe. The match is set to start at 1:30 p.m. on Blackwell Field.
HLGU is a Division I NAIA (National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics) school and a member of the American Midwest Conference.
