HLGU Associate Professor Wins Award

September 23, 2011 – HLGU Associate Professor, Michael J. Chlebanowski won the ORiGINALE 2011 Merit Award for his oil painting “Honey, Well Let’s Go Fishing”. In addition to the award, Chlebanowski also received a cash prize. Now in its 47th year, the annual exhibit and competition for the Hannibal Art Club drew 132 original works from 58 area artists. Works on exhibit include oil/oil pastel, drawings/prints, water media, sculpture/assemblage, mixed media, and acrylics. The competition portion was judged by St. Louis artist Billyo O’Donnell. The exhibit is on display at the Hannibal Arts Council until Friday, October 21. Gallery hours are Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. during exhibits.
