Mandi Riddle led the Lady Trojans with a 30th place finish at the Gary Stoner Invitational hosted by Central Methodist.  Riddle finished the 5K in 20:37 which was a two minute improvement from last season’s time on the same course.

Lady Trojans Nicole Griesbaum, Sarah Erickson and Jennifer Yoder came in second, third and fourth for the team, finishing within 30 seconds of each other.  Griesbaum finished the race in 41st with a time of 21:14, Erickson came in 43rd with a time of 21:23 and Yoder crossed the finish line in 21:35 to finish 45th overall.  Jessica Bailey rounded things out for the ladies as she came in with a time of 22:58 to finish 56th.

Philiph Tonui helped set the pace for the men’s squad with a 26:29 8K time and 11th place finish.  John Bedworth was the second Trojan to come across the finish line.  His time of 28:12 gave him a 42nd place finish while teammate Troy Pace came in 56th place with a time of 29:14.

Zach Lewis finished just seconds away from Pace as he crossed the finish line in 29:18 to finish 58th overall.  Tyler Malone was the fifth Trojan to finish as he came across in 60th place sporting a time of 29:47.

Both the men’s and women’s teams finished with sixth place standings.  The teams will be back at it on October 15 as the Trojans participate in the Illinois Collegiate Invitational.  The women’s race is set to start at 11:00 a.m. with the men’s race to follow.
