Scaramelli, Aguado Name AMC Players of the Week

St. Louis, Mo. - Mica Scaramelli and Javier Aguado of Hannibal-LaGrange University are this week's American Midwest Conference Men's Soccer Defensive and Offensive Player of the Week, respectively. The pair have helped lead the Trojans to a 12-2 record this season, a No. 14 ranking in the NAIA and a perfect 6-0 mark against league foes.
Mica Scaramelli has been instrumental to the defensive success of the Trojans in 2011. The sophomore defender from Santiago, Chile has helped hold opponents to just one goal through conference play so far and just two in their last nine contests, including a 7-0 shutout over Missouri Baptist this week. Hannibal-LaGrange is ranked fifth in the NAIA in total shutouts with eight.
Freshman Javier Aguado added to his season total goals and assists this week with two goals and an assist for Hannibal over Missouri Baptist. The Monterrey, Mexico native leads the squad with 10 goals this season in just his first year of play.
Hannibal-LaGrange is back in action on Tuesday, Oct. 18th when they face previous AMC member McKendree (Ill.) University in Lebanon, Ill. at 6:00 p.m.
HLGU is a Division I NAIA (National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics) school and a member of the American Midwest Conference.
