Hannibal, MO - Citing a desire to invest in education in the state of Missouri, the George H. Riedel Private Foundation recently provided a grant of $25,000 to the Missouri Colleges Fund (MCF). Hannibal-LaGrange College received a major portion of this gift.

The grant will underwrite scholarships at the 15 MCF member schools. These scholarships will be awarded to students who are residents of Hannibal, MO, by the member schools on the basis of financial need.

“Hannibal-LaGrange College is very grateful to the George H. Riedel Private Foundation and the Missouri Colleges Fund for this gift,” said Dr. Woodrow W. Burt, president. “This contribution recognizes the importance of education and the significant impact an educated workforce has on Missouri's economy.”

The MCF was formed in 1952 as a non-profit corporation. The MCF Mission is to acquire resources to help educate students in its 15 member private liberal-arts colleges and universities.

Missouri Colleges Fund member schools include: Avila University, Kansas City; Central Methodist University, Fayette; Columbia College, Columbia; Culver-Stockton College, Canton; Drury University, Springfield; Evangel University, Springfield; Fontbonne University, St. Louis; Hannibal-LaGrange College, Hannibal; Maryville University, St. Louis; Missouri Baptist University, St. Louis; Park University, Parkville; Southwest Baptist University, Bolivar; Westminster College, Fulton; William Jewel College, Liberty; and William Woods University, Fulton.
