Trojans Earn Top Seed in AMC Soccer Tourney

St. Louis, Mo. - After completing the American Midwest Conference regular season with a perfect 7-0 record, the Trojans of Hannibal-LaGrange University have secured the top seed in the 2011 postseason tournament.
Hannibal-LaGrange, led by head coach David Erskine, is 14-4 on the season and ranked No. 16 in the NAIA Top 25 Poll. The Trojans receive a bye in the first round and will host a semifinal on Tuesday, Nov. 8th in Hannibal, Mo.
Columbia College earned the No. 2 seed in the tournament, finishing the conference season with a 6-1 record. The Cougars, under the direction of John Klein, also will bypass the quarterfinal round and host a semifinal on Nov. 8th. Columbia is 15-2-1 overall and ranked No. 20 in the NAIA.
Third seeded Park University (5-2) will host sixth seeded Missouri Baptist University (2-5) on Saturday, Nov. 5th in the quarterfinal round.
Fourth seeded William Woods University (3-3-1) welcomes fifth seeded Williams Baptist College (3-4) in the quarterfinals.
The lowest remaining seed of the quarterfinal winners will take on top seeded Hannibal in the semifinals.
Semifinal winners will proceed to the Championship contest on Friday, Nov. 11 held at the highest remaining seed.
The AMC Tournament Champion will receive the AMC automatic bid to the NAIA National Champions Opening-Round Game on Nov. 19.
Hannibal-LaGrange University is a Division I NAIA (National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics) institution and a member of the American Midwest Conference.
