Lady Trojans Easily Defeat Manhattan Christian

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Lady Trojans opened up day one of the St. Louis College of Pharmacy Basketball Classic with an easy 74-45 win over Manhattan Christian.
The ladies grabbed the lead in the opening seconds after a layup by Ashleigh Spencer and never looked back. Hannibal-LaGrange opened the game on a 20-0 run before the Lady Crusaders found its first points with 13:16 left in the half.
Hannibal-LaGrange continued to play tough, physical defense and didn’t give up a made field goal until there was only 2:44 left before the intermission. The ladies entered halftime holding a 40-12 lead over the Lady Crusaders.
The Lady Trojans maintained its lead over Manhattan Christian in the second half as many of the bench players were able to see significant playing time in the 29 point win.
With the win, the Lady Trojans improve its record to 2-2 with the chance to move above .500 tomorrow against Stephens College. The November 5 contest will be held in St. Louis, Mo. at 3:00 p.m. as both squads will take part in day two of the classic.
Hannibal-LaGrange University is a Division I NAIA (National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics) institution and a member of the American Midwest Conference.
