Hannibal, MO-Hannibal-LaGrange College's athletic department recently named a new head women's basketball coach.  Brad Phillips will begin his duties this fall.

Phillips was most recently head women's basketball coach for Jacksonville College in Jacksonville, TX.  This past 2006-07 academic year, the Lady Jaguars of Jacksonville College posted their second best season record in the history of the program.

Phillips received his Bachelor of Science in physical education and health from Williams Baptist College in Walnut Ridge, AR, and a Master of Science in Education from Emporia State University, Emporia, KS.

“We are thrilled to have someone of Brad's credentials here at HLG,” said Dr. Tom Hufty, vice president for collegiate affairs and assistant to the president at HLG.  “We are confident that he will make a tremendous impact on the Lady Trojan basketball program,” continued Hufty.  “Brad Phillips is a great fit for HLG.  His commitment to excellence, his strong work ethic and his desire to make an impact in the lives of his team compliment what HLG is all about.”

In addition to his coaching experience at Jacksonville College, Phillips has also been the assistant women's basketball coach at Pratt Community College in Pratt, KS, and has held various coaching and teaching positions at several high schools in Arkansas and Missouri.

Phillips is looking forward to working at Hannibal-LaGrange College. “I'm very excited to have the opportunity to coach at a prestigious Christian college in the American Midwest Conference.  I really like the town of Hannibal and believe that I will have a lot of fun coaching at Hannibal-LaGrange.”
