HLGU to Present Art Exhibit by Brenda Brosi Benson

Hannibal, MO - The Hannibal-LaGrange University Art Department will be holding a special art exhibit featuring the work of artist Brenda Brosi Benson of Monroe City in Hagerman Art Gallery January 13-31.
Brenda Brosi Benson was born and raised in Hannibal, Missouri and recived her degree in Art from Truman State University. She has studied watercolor in workshops with a variety of instructors including Duane Light, Marilynn Bradley and Paul Jackson. She taught art in the public school system for 26 years while she and her husband Danny raised their four children.
“Since I’ve retired from teaching art I am pursuing my first love, painting! My media of choice is watercolor, but I also enjoy drawing and ceramics. I have a secret desire to be a sculptor and lately have incorporated the third dimension into my watercolors.”
An opening reception for Benson’s exhibit will be held on Friday, January 13 from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. For more information, contact Robin Stone, art department chair, at (573) 629- 3175.
