Hannibal-LaGrange University along with TRC will be holding its first open house and reception for the new Master of Science in Education (MSE) program on Thursday, June 28, 2012 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The open house will take place in room 204 of the TRC Administration Building on the campus of Three Rivers College. This event will highlight the advantages of the MSE program at TRC, how the degree can be completed in just 15 months, and allow area teachers the opportunity to speak to Dr. Jane Schafer, HLGU’s Director of Teacher Education and Graduate Studies.

All open house attendees will be entered in a drawing for door prizes. Prizes include: 1 HLGU Class Voucher ($885 value) and a $25 Fuel Card!

Hannibal-LaGrange University’s MSE degree is designed to provide a program of professional growth for early childhood, elementary, and secondary teachers. In addition, teachers who have completed Reading Recovery training or earned their National Board Certification and who choose to earn an MSE degree from HLGU will be given 6-9 hours of course work credit, depending on the program emphasis chosen. “ This is an excellent opportunity for area teachers who are considering going back to school to get their Master’s degree. HLGU’s MSE Program is one of the best and for the classes to be offered here at TRC – makes it that much better. Offering this new degree is definitely an asset to the community,” stated Donna Pirc, HLGU / TRC Teacher Education Program Coordinator.

The Master of Science in Education degree program is accredited by The Higher Learning Commission. The commission is one of six regional accreditation bodies in the United States and offers the highest form of accreditation available to a college or university.
