Hannibal, MO- On Friday, July 6, 2012, Hannibal-LaGrange University hosted a group of visitors from Taiwan. Curt Haner, HLGU alum and Hannibal High School teacher, is the Taiwan Project sponsor. While visiting Hannibal-LaGrange University’s campus the students were greeted by Dr. Anthony Allen, president, and enjoyed a campus tour led by Kathryn Martin, Lissie Youse, and Sean Freeman, HLGU admissions representatives.
“The Taiwan Project is a cultural exchange program that began seven years ago with the help of the University of Missouri. In this program students learn about another culture through videoconferencing, through e-mail exchange, and ultimately through a visit to the other country,” stated Haner. During even years a group of students from Taiwan visits Hannibal and on the odd years a group of students from Hannibal visit Taiwan.
