Hannibal, MO - The Hannibal-LaGrange University Art Department will be holding a special art exhibit from September 7th through the 28th featuring the work of West Coast artist Marshall Tripp.
Largely self-taught, Tripp's earliest memories of making art are from a very young age but it made its way into his working life in the 60s and 70s with unique paint jobs on custom cars and hot rods. over 15 years ago he completed many commercial murals on trucks and trailers with several of them still in service today.
Tripp enjoys pursuing many types of fine arts with a special interest in large scale works such as murals, some of which can be seen right here in Hannibal. Tripp has been represented by the Alliance Art Gallery in downtown Hannibal since 2004.
An opening reception for Tripp's exhibit will be held on Friday, September 7 from 6:00 pm-8:00 pm in the lobby of the Roland Fine Arts Center on the HLGU campus. For more information, contact Robin Stone, Art Department Chair, at 573-629-3175.
