“The Redeemed Tour,” is aptly named after the lead single from Big Daddy Weave’s new album released this past April, “Love Come to Life”. The band, comprised of Mike Weaver (lead vocals/guitar), Jay Weaver (bass/vocals), Jeremy Redmon (guitar/vocals), Joe Shirk (keyboards/saxophone) and Jeff Jones (drums), have experienced a new level of meaning and ministry in their concerts over the past year by being even more transparent about their own lives and praying during shows with those who seek prayer in their lives.
“I think this tour is appropriately named, for sure,” said Mike Weaver. “I’ve been blown away by how people have been responding to this song! It really resonates with what God has been doing in my life personally and with what we’ve been seeing God accomplish night after night on the road with Big Daddy. I think when we’re willing to share our own personal hurts and brokenness, God brings down some walls in others who may have previously been afraid to bring those kinds of things into the light. I know this first hand, and thank God there’s freedom beyond our baggage! So excited to take this idea across our country with Aaron Shust. We’ve toured together before, I continue to be a huge fan and he’s a great friend of ours. Really looking forward to what God has in store!”
Aaron Shust also shared his excitement for the tour, “Being out with Big Daddy Weave has been a highlight for us in our touring experience and we look forward to it again. The bond is true and I know that our hearts are one when I say that we want nothing more than to join with everyone in attendance by lifting up the Name of our Redeemer in worship. It’s going to be a great night!”
Throughout the show, audience members can look forward to hearing new tracks including their No. 1 hit single, “Love Come To Life,” “Redeemed” and “Jesus Move.” They will also perform past hits including “You Found Me” and “Every Time I Breathe.”
As the tour is getting ready to gear up, Big Daddy Weave’s current single, “Redeemed,” is only gaining momentum. The track, co-written by Mike Weaver and Benji Cowart, is consistently in the Top 5 on the iTunes Christian & Gospel Songs chart. It is currently either in or closing in on the Top 10 for three different Christian radio airplay charts including: No. 11, National Christian Audience; No. 12, AC Monitored and No. 8, AC Indicator. In addition, the video for “Redeemed” has heated up from around 1,000 views a day in May to approximately 6,000 views per day currently.
Big Daddy Weave formed when Mike Weaver, Jay Weaver, Jeremy Redmon, Jeff Jones and Joe Shirk got together at the University of Mobile, and that original fivesome continues to write, produce, and inspire together. They stepped into the spotlight in 2002 with the release of their second album One and Only, which debuted in SoundScan’s Christian Top 5 and saw the group nominated as Dove Awards New Artist of the Year. Their 2010 album Christ Has Come won a Dove for Christmas Album of the Year, and they recently released their first greatest hits compilation, The Ultimate Collection. They have been honored at ASCAP’s Christian Music Awards and were chosen for the WOW Hits compilations in five of the last six years
