The afternoon will include performances by HLGU’s ministry teams, The New Edition, Praise Song, and Chamber Choir, as well as face painting, provided by the Art Department and a wellness tent and concessions provided by the Nursing Department. Be sure to bring your lawn chairs and blankets for the Theatre Department’s production of Me and Richard III beginning at 2:00 pm.
“It’s wonderful to see the different departments come together to offer such a family friendly day in the park, filled with the Arts,” said Sabrina Price, HLGU Theatre Instructor .
Me and Richard III depicts a stuttering high school sophomore, Reggie, who longs to be the star in the school’s play of Shakespeare’s Richard III. Driven by a crush on the girl playing Lady Anne, Reggie goes through with his own version of King Richard’s ambitious, yet dangerous plot in order to ensure being cast as the title role.
So come on out to Nipper Park, located on the riverfront just off Broadway, on October 13 to experience this free and entertaining afternoon that your family is sure to enjoy. For more information, contact Sabrina Price at 573.629.3170 or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
