Second-year nursing students at Hannibal-LaGrange University are putting together a volleyball tournament fundraiser and silent auction, with an appearance by Miss Missouri, in order to lower the individual cost for an NCLEX review course. This course will prepare them for their final nursing exams and costs $350 per student, out of pocket.
The tournament will be held April 6th at the Mabee Sports Complex on the HLGU campus and will start between 7:00 and 8:00 am. It is a double elimination tournament with each team guaranteed at least two matches.
Team registration, due Friday, March 29th, is $150 which includes t-shirts for a team of up to 8 players. The 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place teams will receive trophies and 1st place will win their entry fee back. Admission to the games is free and open to the public, and food from The Sauced Hog will be served in concessions. Individual shirts may also be purchased for ten dollars each.
The nursing students will also be holding a silent auction with items such as candle gift baskets, KC Royals tickets, a gift from the KC Chiefs, and more, up for bids.
