The Hannibal-LaGrange University Theatre Department will present the one act comedy Forbidden Fruit, by George J. Smith and directed by HLGU student Lindsey McCloy. Performances will be held April 22 at 6:30, 7:30, and 8:30 pm in the Parker Theatre of the Roland Fine Arts Center.
Widowed Countess Corisanda is bored, bored because due to her immense wealth and beauty nothing is denied her. Handsome Chevalier Rosario is tired, tired of pretty women who want to marry him. When the Chevalier stops by the Countesses chateau they both decide to pretend to be unavailable in order to put off the others advances. Corisanda claims to be married, Rosario says he is bound by a vow of celibacy. Soon they fall desperately in love, but is their love true? Or is it merely the desire for what one cannot have?
All performances are open to the public. Cost for admission is $1 per ticket and audience seating is limited to 50 people per performance. For more information, contact Sabrina Price at 573-62-3170 or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
