Hannibal-LaGrange University is proud to announce a new string ensemble class. This new ensemble for beginners and intermediate to advanced string players will include both HLGU students and area community members.
This new ensemble is to be the beginning point for growing a Hannibal-LaGrange University Orchestra, which will also include winds and percussion.
Anyone involved in taking lessons, or who would like to play in a string ensemble, is welcome to attend. For HLGU students wanting to continue to play, the class can be taken for one credit hour.
Rehearsals will run every Saturday from September 7 to December 7, 2013 and from January 18 to April 19, 2014. They will be held from 10am to noon with beginning players meeting from 10-11 and intermediate to advanced players meeting from 11 to noon.
Ensemble performances will be planned based on the progress made during the fall semester.
Lessons will be conducted by Jane Griffen, Chairman, Department of Music, and by John Ferguson. Membership is by consent of Jane Griffen.
