An official ceremony marking the beginning of construction of Hannibal-LaGrange University's new Science, Nursing and Allied Health building will be held on Friday, November 22, at 10:00 a.m. The ceremony, with guest speakers and refreshments, will be held in the lobby of the Roland Fine Arts Center. The event will include a ceremonial breaking of the ground of the construction site at approximately 10:45 a.m. Guests that wish to attend the groundbreaking will be shuttled between the RFAC and the construction site.
Community leaders, HLGU trustees, administration, faculty, staff, and students will be on hand for the events. The public is invited to attend.
Plans are for the facility to be built on the southeast side of Highway168 between Roland Fine Arts Center and Crouch Hall. Amenities of the 40,000 sq. ft. handicapped-accessible building include science, math, and nursing classrooms, a computer lab, private and group study rooms, a student lounge/common area, faculty offices, and science lab rooms. This new facility is expected to be ready for use next fall.
