The Hannibal-LaGrange University Art Department will be holding an art exhibit featuring local artist Carol Burns, January 10 through the end of the month.
An opening reception for Burns' exhibit will be held on Friday, January 10 from 6-8 pm in the lobby of the Roland Fine Arts Center on the HLGU campus.
Carol holds a BSE in art education from Truman University and an MA from California State University. She has taught interior design, fibers, and methods of teaching art at Hannibal-LaGrange University. Currently, she teaches painting, 2D design, and 3D design at John Wood Community College.
Although she considers herself a watercolorist, Carol has more recently developed a body of works in handmade paper. These works of art will be on display in HLGU's Hagerman Gallery. The exhibit, entitled "A Journey in Paper," will feature a variety of three dimensional collages as well as some "in the round" pieces. The exhibit will show the progression of her layered three dimensional watercolors to her recent paper works.
