Hannibal-LaGrange University's ministry teams, The New Edition and Praise Song, will present their final concert of the 2013-2014 performance season on Saturday, April 12. The HLGU music department will present their final concert on Tuesday, April 15.

Both concerts will begin at 7:00 pm and will be held in the Parker Theatre of the Roland Fine Arts Center. The community is cordially invited to attend and support the students as they present highlights from this year's repertoire. Admission to the concerts is free.

The New Edition is a traveling repertory troupe specializing in Christian theatre. The troupe leads creative worship in churches, conferences, and youth events, presenting challenging messages with a biblical foundation in a way that people clearly understand. The team has performed across the United States and internationally, including Panama, Switzerland, and Hungary. They have the reputation of being one of the finest Christian college drama troupes in the nation.

Praise Song is an upbeat vocal and instrumental group. Ministering through song and testimony, they perform for worship services, conferences, banquets and youth rallies. Their program includes praise and worship music, traditional hymns, and hits from the contemporary Christian music charts.

This year's spring music department concert will feature the HLGU Band, under the direction of Nancy Sweets; the HLGU string orchestras, under the direction of L. Jane Griffen; and the HLGU concert choir, directed by Lori Scott.

A variety of music ranging from marches and spirituals to famous works by Brahms, Rosinni, Haydn, Mozart, Bach, and Samuel Barber will be enjoyed. Close to 90 students and community members will be involved in this concert. Accompanists are Mrs. Karen Meade and Miss Angie Smith.

Several special recognitions and a music video tribute by Alex Baum will close out the program.
