Hannibal-LaGrange University held a press conference this morning announcing the addition of a new degree program. The University will be offering a Master of Arts in Leadership degree beginning in August.
This program, fully accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and the Missouri Department of Higher Education, can be completed entirely online in just one year. Students will be able to choose between two tracks, Organizational Management and Christian Ministry. "We are so excited because its going to let our students all over the world, all over the state, and in many different states, enjoy getting a master of leadership degree," stated Dr. Jill Arnold, Director of Online Learning.
HLGU's Master of Leadership in Organizational Management track is geared toward anyone desiring to further their education and their career in the area of leadership. "This is a very versatile degree," stated Dr. Ray Carty, Vice President of Institutional Effectiveness. "It is perfect for those that already have a degree in business but also for those who have found themselves in a leadership role that may not have a business degree."
HLGU's Master of Leadership in Christian Ministry has been designed to meet the growing need of ministry leaders seeking specialized training in the area of Christian discipleship. Courses provide students with an excellent understanding of biblical leadership principles while also teaching about the business aspects of running a church and keeping the doors open. This program is well-suited for associate pastors, discipleship pastors, small group pastors, and Christian education pastors.
"Leadership is discussed much in our society today, however in the research that we conducted, it appears that the discussion of leadership and the reality of positive leadership skills are not always congruent, thus it appears that the need is evident for the training of skillful leaders," Carty elaborated.
"Leadership is comprised of many components; however four seem to be most relevant: integrity, influence, inward strength, and ingenuity. While some individuals possess interpersonal skills that lend themselves to leadership, leadership skills can be learned and can be enhanced, thus the purpose of our new program," he continued.
Fall classes begin on August 26 and financial aid is available to students. For more information on the program, please contact Dr. Jill Arnold, Director of Online Learning at 573-629-3103, or via email at email@example.com.
Hannibal-LaGrange University is a four-year Christian university fully accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools and prides itself in its traditional and nontraditional educational experience in a distinctively Christian environment.
