Hannibal-LaGrange University is a recipient of a challenge grant from the J.E. and L.E. Mabee Foundation in the amount of $400,000 to be used to construct a new science, nursing, and allied health facility. The previous science building was damaged beyond repair by a storm that struck Hannibal on May 20, 2013.
The University must raise an additional $865,224 by March 31, 2015 in order to receive the matching funds from the Mabee Foundation. Another $1.5 million will be needed for furnishings and fixtures for the building, bringing the total cost to just under $7 million. Insurance proceeds from the previous building are currently being determined.
HLGU is very grateful to alumni and friends of the University who helped meet the first half of the challenge by raising just under a million dollars in four months.
A campaign for office, classroom, building, and other naming opportunities is currently underway. For more information on naming opportunities and how to be a part of this exciting project, contact Dr. Anthony Allen, President, at 573-629-3252, or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
