Hannibal, MO - Jane Griffen, assistant professor of music at Hannibal-LaGrange College, was guest conductor and Jessica Woodworth, instructor of music at HLG was guest accompanist for the Illinois All-State Baptist Youth Choir's 28th Annual Summer Tour. The fifty-voice choir is a select choir of Baptist youth age 15 - 18 from the entire state of Illinois. From July 20-27 the choir presented a concert of sacred, ethnic, and world music at Greenville, IL, Gladewater, TX, Canton, TX, Granbury, TX, Waco, TX, San Antonio, TX, Dallas, TX, Gainesville, TX, Dadeville, MO, and Fairfield, IL. 

From July 16 - 19, the Illinois Baptist State Association (IBSA)sponsored a week-long summer music camp at Greenville College in Greenville, IL, for all youth ages 12-18.  It was at this camp that the All-State Choir rehearsed for the tour.  Other classes offered at the camp were: handbells, orchestra, piano, guitar, music theory, conducting, vocal technique, sign language, interpretive dance, and camp choir.
A follow-up concert will take place at First Baptist Church of Eldorado, IL, on August 12 at 6:00 p.m. 

The IBSA 2007 All-State Youth Choir coordinator was W. Allen Mashbern, who is the director of worship and church music for the Illinois Baptist State Association.
