Hannibal, MO - The Hannibal Children's Choir, sponsored by Hannibal-LaGrange College, is getting ready for the 2007-2008 school year. Auditions will be held on two Saturdays, September 8th and 15th, from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. in the Roland Fine Arts Center.  These auditions are open to any area children in grades three through six who are interest in continuing their musical education or who like singing.

The Choir will be in their twenty-first year as an educational outreach to enhance the children's musical experience and supplementing school and church choral training by focusing on the preparation and performance of age-appropriate music literature. The rehearsals include vocal training, music activities and games, hands on Orff instrument playing, and a variety of music learning.

Last year's season was a successful one and included over 50 students representing all the area elementary schools and middle schools. The choir will continue to perform for the Christmas season for the community and HLG, and spring programs and school tour in April.

The Hannibal Children's Choir will meet weekly on Tuesdays from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Roland Fine Arts Center on the HLG campus. The first scheduled concert will be in November.

Appointment times are requested before auditioning.  Please note that returning choir members are requested to have an appointment for a voice check and to update their registration.  If you have any questions or are interested in having an audition, please call the director, Linda St. Juliana, during the evening at (573) 248-0892, or leave a message during the day for a return call.
