HLG ANNOUNCES EVENTS OF HOMECOMING 2006

Hannibal, MO - Hannibal-LaGrange College's annual homecoming will be November 3 -5. The college plans to
celebrate the event with the theme of “We Are Family.”
Festivities for alumni will begin with a dedication of the Walk of Honor, which paves the sidewalk to the
Woodrow W. Burt Administration Building, on Friday, November 3, at 10:00 a.m. The sidewalk is lined with
brick and granite blocks donated by alumni, staff, faculty, and friends of Hannibal-LaGrange College.
The Annual Alumni Golf Classic at Norwoods Golf Club tees off at noon and goes until 4 p.m. The $29 fee
includes cart and greens fee. Golfing will be followed by the President's Reception and Art Show reception
at 4:00 p.m. in the lobby of the Roland Fine Arts Center.
At 6:30 p.m. on Friday, the Alumni Banquet and Awards will be hosted in the Mabee Sports Complex. After
the banquet, alumni and guests are invited to attend the Homecoming Gala and Coronation in the Parker
Theater at 8:15 p.m. where HLG student royalty will be crowned. The gala will showcase the outstanding
talents of many HLG students and alumni.
In keeping with the theme of “family,” there are many activities planned for Saturday, beginning with the
first annual Trojan Turkey Trek at 8:00 a.m. beginning at the Mabee Sports Complex. This will be a 5K
Run/Walk followed by a ½ mile fun run for the kids. All participants will receive a medal and a t-shirt
along with individual prizes. You may still register for the Trojan Turkey Trek at www.hlg.edu and click
on Turkey Race sign-up. The Alumni Baseball Game will begin at 10:00 a.m. followed by the annual
Homecoming Parade, featuring floats from HLG clubs and organizations, held on the grounds of
Hannibal-LaGrange College campus. You will want to stay for the Homecoming BBQ that will begin at noon.
At 2:00, the Lady Trojan Volleyball Team will play a match against Missouri Baptist University. At 5:00
p.m.,, the Lady Trojan Basketball team will take on Iowa Wesleyan at 5 p.m. Then, the HLG Trojan's will
face off against Robert Morris College at 7:00. Special half-time activities include a dedication ceremony
for an athletic trophy case given in honor of the 1952-54 Trojan basketball teams.
On Sunday, November 5, a special Chromecoming and Chili Cook-Off will begin at 2:00 p.m.
