Hannibal, MO--The Hannibal Children's Choir, sponsored by Hannibal-LaGrange College, will be holding their traditional Christmas Concert on Sunday, December 10th at 4:00 PM in Parker Theatre of the Roland Fine Arts Center at HLG.
This year's choir consists of 54 students from several different schools in the Hannibal school district. The choir will be singing a variety of music, including "Peace Canon" with some sign language, two pieces with Orff instrumentation, guest violinist Jordan Jameson, a Celtic song entitled "Winter Walk", and choreography for "When the Lights Shine" and "A Nice, Nice Christmas". A special addition this year is a combined selection with Hannibal High School Choral students singing "African Noel". The public is welcome to attend.
The Choir is in their twentieth year as an educational outreach to enhance children's musical experience, supplementing school and church choral training by focusing on the preparation and performance of age-appropriate music literature while having fun through games, exercises, and performances.
This year children's choir is led by Linda St. Juliana who has taught all grade levels in the Hannibal Public Schools for many years. She is presently the vocal music teacher at Veterans Elementary School and Coordinator of Elementary Fine Arts in Education for the Hannibal Public School District.
If you have any questions about the Children's Choir, please call the director, Linda St. Juliana, during the evening at 573-248-0892 or leave a message during the day for a return call.
