Hannibal, MO--Hannibal-LaGrange College will hold commencement ceremon ies at 10 a.m. on Saturday, December 16, in the Parker Theatre of the Roland Fine Arts Center. Approximately 55 graduates will receive degrees. This marks the first December Graduation in HLG's 148 year history.
It has long been the plan of the HLG Administration to offer a winter commencement to those students who complete requirements for their degree during the fall semester. "It allows those students who have worked hard and finished their degrees to move ahead with their diploma in hand," said Dr. Woodrow Burt, President of Hannibal-LaGrange College.
With a record 230 graduates in May 2006, and enrollment numbers continuing to increase, the need for another graduation ceremony was evident. “This December commencement is especially meaningful because it is another sign of the growth of the college,” said Burt.
The keynote speaker for the inaugural December Graduation will be HLG President, Dr. Woodrow Burt.
The fall 2006 semester will end Monday, December 11, followed by final exams through Thursday, December 14. Residential housing will close at 5:00 p.m. Thursday, December 14. Registration for spring 2007 semester classes will be held January 8-9, 2007, with classes to begin on Tuesday, January 9. For more information on class schedules or registration, call the Admissions Office at 1-800-HLG-1119, or check out the website at www.hlg.edu.
