Hannibal, MO - Steve Miller of Hannibal, Mo., has been appointed Vice President for
Institutional Advancement at Hannibal-LaGrange College. Miller will supervise the offices of development, alumni services, and public relations. He will oversee all fund-raising efforts and call on alumni and friends of the college to solicit financial support, as well as the planning, organization, coordination, and implementation of all functions initiated by various offices within Institutional Advancement.
Miller received his associate degree from HLG, a Bachelor of Science in Public Administration with a minor in business from Northwest Missouri State University, and a Master of Business Administration from William Woods University.
Miller has served as board president of United Way of the Mark Twain Area and the Hannibal YMCA, and president of Early Bird Kiwanis. He has been an adjunct instructor in the ADVANCE Program at HLG, director of Human Resources at the Hannibal Clinic, and Individual Giving Officer at Culver-Stockton College.
“We are delighted that Steve Miller will be joining the Hannibal-LaGrange College administration,” said HLG President Dr. Woodrow Burt. “With Steve’s board experience in fund-raising and personnel development, he will be a wonderful asset to our campus. As a graduate of HLG and a native of northeast Missouri, he has an understanding of the college and community that will allow him to serve effectively in this position.”
Miller succeeds Mrs. Connie Benson who is transitioning to a position within her husband’s company, Benson Financial Group. Miller and his wife, Darcia, reside in Hannibal, Missouri. The Millers have two children, Bette Jean of Greenville, South Carolina and Cory of Hannibal, MO. Miller will begin his duties on December 1.
