Hannibal, MO - The Hannibal-LaGrange College Art Department will be featuring a
sculpture/batik/fabric art exhibit by guest artist Susan Friesen in Hagerman Art Gallery January 15 – February 5.
Friesen, originally from Springfield, IL, has lived in Hannibal for almost 20 years. She has been teaching in the Hannibal School District since 1993, and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree with teaching certification from Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, IL. Friesen recently completed her master’s degree from Lindenwood University in St. Louis, MO. She currently teaches art as well as working as a professional artist. Friesen and her husband, Peter, have two children.
“I believe that Art is everywhere,” said Friesen. “It touches every part of our lives, if you can see it. As an artist, it is my pleasure and privilege to be able to share the everyday beauty that surrounds us – to bring to the viewer’s attention the details that make each of God’s creations unique.”
An opening reception for Friesen’s exhibit will be held on Friday, January 15 from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. For more information, contact Robin Stone, art department chair, at (573) 221-3675, ext. 3175.
