Retirement Celebrations Planned for HLG Professors

Hannibal, MO – A retirement celebration to honor Dr. Kenneth McNutt, professor of English, and Dr. Jerry Thomason, professor of English, is planned for Friday, March 26, at 7:00 p.m. in the Page Dining Room on the campus of HLG. 

Dr. Kenneth McNutt has served in the HLG English Department for 38 years and will retire at the end of the spring 2010 semester.  Dr. Jerry Thomason has served for over 28 years in several academic departments and administrative offices at HLG including English, theatre, and institutional advancement, and will also retire following the end of the 2009-2010 academic year.

The retirement celebration will include food, fellowship, and recognition for the contributions McNutt and Thomason have given to Hannibal-LaGrange College.  The cost of the meal will be $11.00 per person, and checks should be made payable to Hannibal-LaGrange College.  Reservations are requested before March 19.

Memory books for both professors will be presented during the evening celebration.  If you would like to submit a note of thanks and/or affirmation to either or both Dr. McNutt and Dr. Thomason, please print your message on an 8.5 x 11 (unfolded) sheet of paper.  Personal, business, church, or school letterhead is appropriate for inclusion in the memory book.  Your letter of affirmation and remembrance should be sent to the HLG Department of English by March 1, 2009.
