Hannibal, MO -- The Hannibal-LaGrange College Campus Community Connectors are celebrating their first anniversary after a very busy year.  Since the group was formed on April 20, 2006, this new volunteer organization has grown both in membership and activities.  The Campus Community Connectors, also known as the CCC, is an area community group of volunteers connecting the HLG campus with the community through service, support, hospitality, education, and membership.

The Campus Community Connectors have been involved in several activities this past year on the campus of HLG.  As the students arrived last fall, the CCC volunteers helped serve lunch to the returning athletes, delivered goodie bags to all the dorms, and helped on Student Move-In Day.  Highlights from the past year include: participating in the annual Walk of Honor, serving at the Homecoming and Booster Banquets, judging History Day, assisting with Student Senior Recitals, offering guidance to prospective students on campus visit days, and helping with the Trojan Turkey Trek 5K Run/Walk and the annual phonathon.

Members of the Campus Community Connectors have had the opportunity to attend all college athletic events free of charge, benefit from lectures by nationally-known professors and speakers, enjoy access to the L.A. Foster Library on campus, and spend time with students during special dinner events.

The Campus Community Connectors serve as a bridge between Hannibal-LaGrange College and the surrounding communities and are looking for more volunteers to join this new and exciting organization.  CCC members participate in a wide variety of activities. Choosing the areas that are of personal interest allows each member to be as active as their schedule allows.  The CCC is currently accepting applications for membership.  At a cost of $5.00 a year, this organization will provide you with the opportunity to enjoy interacting with the students of Hannibal-LaGrange College while providing them with a chance to meet the caring people of Hannibal and the surrounding area.   To join the Campus Community Connectors, you may contact Judy Harding, CCC Membership Chairman, at (573) 221-5757, or by email at jah40@msn.com, or you may contact Louis Riggs, HLG Director of Grant Research, at (573) 221-3675, ext. 198, or by email at lriggs@hlg.edu.

On April 26, at 4:00 p.m., the Campus Community Connectors will hold their annual meeting in the Page Dining Room of the Partee Center on the campus of HLG.  Hannibal-LaGrange College President Woodrow Burt will be the guest speaker at the annual CCC meeting.  Dinner will be served following the meeting.  All new and prospective members are welcome to attend.  To make reservations, contact Judy Harding or Louis Riggs.

The core committee members of the Campus Community Connectors are Arsene Burton, Robin Greger, Judy Harding, Bill & Sara Jameson, Carol Matsunaga, and Ron & Louise Riggs.  Any of these members would be glad to provide information about the CCC and may be contacted for speaking engagements at your clubs and organizations.
