HLG STUDENTS PLACE AT STATE PBL CONFERENCE

Hannibal, MO- On March 30-31, Hannibal-LaGrange College students attended the 48th annual Missouri Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) State Leadership Conference that was held in Jefferson City. The conference theme was Missouri PBL—Your Ticket to The Future. Registration for the 2007 state conference totaled 220 including 288 students and 32 advisers representing 19 chapters. PBL is an education association of post-secondary student members preparing for careers in business and business education.
The conference featured competitive events for individuals and teams, and election of officers for the next year.
The keynote speaker for the event was Ephren W. Taylor II, Chairman & CEO of AmoroCorp. He focused on the national theme and provided insights for PBL members as he told them they have the “Ticket to Their Future” already in them.
HLG students Jeriod Turner and Heather Burkett took first place in their respective catagories, making them eligible to go to the National Competition held June 23-26, 2007 in Chicago, IL.

1st Place: Heather Burkett
Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) is an educational association of postsecondary student members preparing for careers in business and business education. There are over 11,000 active members in the United States. Missouri has over 700 members in 30 chapters and ranks fourth in membership nationwide.
