Hannibal, MO - In late September, Hannibal-LaGrange College formed a Lego Robotics Team with students ages 9-14.   Their goal was to give kids a chance to experience and be excited about science and technology through team exploration and creativity with the use of Robotic Legos.

HLG will be holding a Lego Expo to give the team a chance to show their creations to their parents and other interested family and community leaders. The expo will be Friday, May 4th from 5:15 p.m to 6:15 p.m.  It will be held in the Page Dining Room located in the Partee Center.

The team will be showing the robots they have designed and built from Legos.  In addition to building the robots, they have learned to program them from the computer.  Some of the students will be showing the research they have done in the areas of robotics and nanotechnology.

This activity has been sponsored by Hannibal-LaGrange College Computer Information System (CIS) Department, Reidel Foundation, Monsanto Foundation, and Marion County 4-H Youth Organization.

The team is mentored and coached by Michelle Todd, HLG CIS instructor, and a HLG CIS freshman student, Jason Smith.

For more information please contact Todd in the CIS office, (573) 221-3675, ext. 238.
