Hannibal, MO - The Hannibal-LaGrange University Art Department will be holding a special art exhibit featuring the work of artist Mary Ann Brinkley of Hannibal in Hagerman Art Gallery February 18-March 18.
Mary Ann Brinkley is a graduate of Lycoming College in Williamsport, PA, where she earned a degree in teaching with a minor in biology. Teaching in the elementary school setting as well as working in crafts and at a plant nursery helped Brinkley to use her creative side. She enjoys experimenting with different mediums, such as oils, watercolor, and acrylics, and has a passion for using her art to make greeting cards. “It was an easy transition to start using my digital camera to express my love of nature,” said Brinkley. “That is why my prints, posters, and cards are called ‘Natural Inspirations.’” Brinkley credits watching her grandmother paint pictures of the Rocky Mountains and other things in nature for fostering her love of art.
Brinkley is a member of the Hannibal Alliance Art Gallery.
An opening reception Brinkley’s exhibit will be held on Friday, February 18 from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. For more information, contact Robin Stone, art department chair, at (573) 221-3675, ext. 3175.
