Hannibal, MO - In just two weeks, Hannibal-LaGrange University has received gifts totaling more than $25,000 for the new Roland Library.
The office of alumni and development hired 11 students to call alumni and HLGU friends for donations. During the phone drive, callers informed alumni and friends about the new library and the Mabee Challenge Grant. Alumni also had the opportunity to ask questions, give suggestions and update contact information.
The Mabee Foundation issued HLGU a challenge grant of $450,000 to help in the construction of the new 20,000 sq. ft. library. The grant has a matching component and must be completed by April, 2011 or no funds will be received. The new library will not only have better technology and more space, but will also enable future Christian leaders to prepare for their life's purpose, serving God. The new library will provide the educational tools that HLGU students need to receive "Knowledge for Service" in a distinctively Christian environment.
HLGU appreciates all of the alumni, friends and families who spent time speaking with students and pledged their support.
